#WhyDesign wants your help! – A new project to showcase practicing female designers from all disciplines based in Ireland.
A little overview of #WhyDesign:
It is an on-line platform that seeks to address the gender imbalance in the design industry across Ireland. The platform is aimed at second level female students, their parents, teachers and guidance councillors. www.whydesign.ie will inform what design actually is, cover the design careers available and include all the third level creative design courses in the country.
A large element of this project is to showcase practicing female designers from all disciplines based in Ireland – Allowing these inspiring role models share their journey and insights into the industry. It will be a living project with female designers from all around Ireland added monthly. The launch night was on March 8th – International Women’s Day.
Oscar winning designer Annie Atkins & Emmy Award Winning designer Chris Do spoke at the event and to top it off, it was MC’D by the brilliantly funny illustrator and comedian, Aoife Dooley.BECOME A SPONSOR
