COVID-19 Entry Guidelines

PROOF OF COVID-19 STATUS

All visitors to the Dublin OPEN will need to show proof of their COVID-19 status for entry.

• This will be by presentation to the Organisers who will be situated in the downstairs Dublin OPEN event lobby of Proof of Immunity made under the Health (Amendment)(No.2) Act 2021; this will include the EU Digital Covid Certificate and HSE Covid-19 Vaccination Record.
• If the visitor is not pre-registered, there may be a requirement to cross check the name on the documentation with Photo ID – acceptable forms of ID are Driving Licence, Passport or other photo ID.

CONTACT TRACING

• In accordance with current government regulations to provide contact tracing details with the exception of those under 18,  all visitors will also need to inform us of their contact name and  telephone number. This will be securely retained for 28 days and will be compliant with GDPR.

SAFETY

• Face coverings: Following the current Irish rules on indoor hospitality, face coverings will need to be worn at this event except for the consumption of food and drink as offered.
• Social distancing of 1 metre should be observed where possible.
• Hand Sanitising Stations will be available throughout the venue and the hotel. We recommend you use these throughout the event.

Driving

Start point: Dublin Airport

Taxi: 20-45 minutes depending on time of day

Taxis are accessible at the airport at Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 outside the main doors. Taxis are available day and night and will cost approximately €25.00/€30.00 depending on the traffic at that time. You are welcome to ask reception for us to call a taxi for you on your departure.

Car: 20 – 45 minutes depending on time of day

You can travel by car via the city centre or the toll bridge. However we would recommend travelling through the toll at peak times as the city can be very busy.

Car Park

Alexander Court Car Park

The car park for The Alex, Alexander Court, is also located on Fenian Street and is a short few minutes’ walk to the hotel. There is an overnight rate of €15 for guests (which is in line with the check-in time of 3pm and check out time of 12noon). The hourly fee is €3 per hour before and after those times. You will need a code to access this car park and it is accessible by telephone or on reception as you check in.

City Trains

A taxi will take about 15 minutes from Heuston Station to the hotel. It will take approximately 4 minutes from Connolly Station.

Dart

There is a DART approximately every 15 mins at Pearse Station, accessing the coastal towns of North Dublin; Malahide, Howth, or South Dublin; Dun Laoghaire, Bray and Greystone.

Pearse Station is located in very close proximity to The Alex, with a small 3 minute walk.

Dublin Ferry Terminal

Car (up to 15 minutes): Dublin Ferry Terminal is located 3km from The Alex and would take approximately 12 minutes by car via the quays with a beautiful view onto the docklands.
