The main objective of the Interiors Association is to enhance the profile of its design members and the status of the Irish interiors industry as a whole. Working alongside corporate members, individual professionals, graduates and students, the IA supports those in many disciplines within the Irish Interior Design and Architecture community.

Based in Dublin, the IA holds nationwide Workshops and CPD events on a monthly basis for its large body of professional accredited members, during which professionals keep up to date on the changes in legislation and regulations in the industry, as well as any innovational products and trends the industry can foresee. Members also benefit from regular Networking Events, hosted by the Interiors Association, during which professionals can meet peers in their industry in a relaxed environment. Carrying out regular industry surveys, the IA also acts as a hub of information on the interiors industry in Ireland.

Corporate bodies, professionals or design students interested in joining the Interiors Association can contact or can visit for more details on joining.

The Institute of Designers Ireland’s function is to promote high standards of design, to foster professionalism and to emphasise designers’ responsibility to society, to the client and to each other. Founded in 1972, the IDI is Ireland’s largest and oldest association of design professionals. It is recognised at national, EU and international level as the representative body for the Irish design profession.

The IDI is a voluntary body, administrated by a board and an elected council of its members. Since January 2017, IDI is a CLG, a fully incorporated company limited by guarantee, a non-profit entity, led by an executive board of directors, monitored and steered by a guardianship council, directed by its members.

Their main aims involve: consolidating design, moderating design, elevating design and evolving design. They create platforms and spaces for discussion and action. They locate and promote opportunities for members’ professional development and career advancement, working to encourage a universal standard of professional design practice.
