David Osborne, Managing Director of Roman, speaks about the trends in Ireland as well as the excitement to BCFA Open Dublin 2019.
Why have you chosen to exhibit at BCFA Open?
We set up Roman in Ireland a few years ago now with a clear objective of leading the Irish hospitality sector in showering. We have been pushing the BCFA to widen itself to Ireland as we find the formula so successful elsewhere.
Have you previously been part of any projects in Ireland?
Roman are extremely active in Ireland being the core specification for Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express. We are in the control book for the main international Hotel Groups plus key Irish based group. We are currently completing our largest job to date at Dublin airport.
What is the current and future strength of the Irish contract furnishings market?
New builds are coming back strongly and refurbishment projects are now constantly ongoing and well-funded. There are a number of hotels per capita makes Ireland a very attractive market.
What are the current design trends in Ireland? Do these differ from the current UK design trends?
Designers are increasingly international and London has such a hub of Architects and Designers and inevitably most fashions in the hospitality sector originate in London and filter out to major cities including Dublin and Belfast.
Many of our projects are based around control books for major hotel groups but some of the boutique hotels have a unique style.
What are the most exciting architectural or interior projects in Dublin?
From a showering point of view Holiday Inn Express at Dublin airport is featuring our state of the art enclosure with Corian vanity unit.
What are you most excited about showcasing at BCFA Open and why?
We are excited to highlight our newly launched level access sliding door enclosures with one or two door options available, which incorporate our unique silicone free hydro active tape system. We will be showcasing our 15 different colours in aluminium and brassware to coordinate with our partner brand for brassware in hospitality bathrooms.
