Joining us for the second time is Ulster Carpets, a family owned carpet manufacturer who are dedicated to quality, excellence and a commitment to the local area, with all their Axminster and Wilton manufacturing coming from their County Armagh site.

We chatted to Katie O’Brien, Contract Sales Executive in Ireland to find out about why she was excited to be returning to the BCFA Open Dublin!Katie O'Brien webHave you noticed any design trends in your sector that differentiate British design and Irish design?

Design for contract flooring has become very specialised and every project is different. Designers from Britain and Ireland are less likely to opt for an off-the-shelf product and are more likely to choose a bespoke product. The result is a unique solution for each project and trends are less obvious. Individuality reigns! Identifying a designer’s style is more obvious but this is less about being British or Irish, more about individual designers expressing their style.

“Individuality reigns!”

Why is the BCFA Open Dublin an unmissable opportunity for you?

The BCFA Open Dublin offers a great networking opportunity including face to face meetings with specifiers and clients.

What’s your current bestseller in Ireland?

We supply a lot of bespoke carpets in Ireland. Our unique, innovative weaving technology PSYLO™ and our talented team of designers mean that we can offer clients unlimited possibilities to create truly unique flooring. However, we also find that our contemporary stock collections remain very popular.

What are you most excited about highlighting at the BCFA Open and why?

I’m most excited about promoting our gorgeous Watercolours range. This heavy wear axminster composed of 80% wool and 20% nylon is inspired by natural landscapes and the abstract masterpieces of JW Turner. We have two designs ‘Amulet’ and ‘Mineral’ which are available in five colourways.Ulster Watercolours Mineral Alchemy webYou can register to attend this event here for free and check out Ulster Carpets exhibitor profile here
