Camira will be shining a spotlight on the recent collaboration with the late mid-century Danish American designer, Jens Risom. Jens Risom Design by Camira.

Zap and Armadillo were originally designed and manufactured by Jens Risom in the 1960s, to complement the iconic furniture designs for which he is renowned. Paying homage to the colours, textures and tones of the fabrics, Camira has reimagined these designs to make them as relevant today as they were when they were first created.

Jens Risom was a Danish American designer of both furniture and textiles, making his name from the mid-century modern period and was one of the first to introduce Scandinavian design to the US. While numerous companies are producing his furniture, Camira is the first company to recreate his fabrics.

Zap is a wool-rich dobby weave fabric with vibrant tone on tone or cross colour mixes, available in a mix of 30 zesty, poppy and vibrant colours. Armadillo is a wool and flax textured fabric available in 12 colourways. Both fabrics are engineered to meet modern standards for flammability, abrasion and light-fastness.

Designed to work together and separately, the two ranges bring new life to the uniquely exciting textile patterns of Jens Risom. Working closely with the Risom family and FORM Portfolios who manage the Risom legacy, Camira has been able to introduce these mid-century fabrics to a new audience in a new era.
