We sit down with Simon Mead, Sales Director for Burgess Furniture, to talk about Burgess exhibiting once again at our BCFA Open Dublin and the current Irish Market…
Why have you chosen to exhibit at BCFA Open?
It has a been a show that we very much enjoyed doing last year and we actually got some work from it. So would not missed it for the world!
Have you previously been part of any projects in Ireland?
Yes we have been involved in numerous projects in Ireland with our partners Bunzl McLaughlin, we have completed a number of new and refurbished hotels projects .
Most recent are the new Grand Central Hotel in Belfast part of the Hastings Group and also BML have the contract to supply the Dalata group their conference, meeting room and banqueting furniture for their Clayton & Maldron brand hotels.
What is the current and future strength of the Irish contract furnishings market?
We feel it’s very strong at the minute, there has been significant growth in the HORCA sector over recent years, with a large number of the new hotels being built in the Dublin area. For us this market is a must right now!
What are the current design trends in Ireland? Do these differ from the current UK design trends?
I do think the Irish market is different the UK in some ways but most of our products are liked by both market – especially our new Table range the A-Fold.
What are you most excited about showcasing at BCFA Open and why?
Our new chair to celebrate our 60th – Adamas!
We look forward to seeing Burgess Furniture at our BCFA Open Dublin!
